Indian Share Market Tips for Tommorow – 07^th January 2012

Despite weakness in Europe, the markets managed to close with moderate gains with realty being the lead gainer. Capital goods and metal, too, did well in today's session and oil & gas and healthcare were the only two sectors that closed in the red. The Sensex closed at 17707, up 102 points from its previous close, and the Nifty shut shop at 5362, up 36 points. The CNX Midcap index closed with 1.5% gain while the BSE Smallcap index was also up 1.5% in today's trade. The market breadth was positive with advances at 861 against declines of 411 on the NSE. The top Nifty gainers were ACC, Ambuja Cements, Siemens and Cairn while the biggest losers included Tata Power, HUL, Sun Pharma and Dr Reddy's.

The markets traded in a range today and closed with moderate gains. Tech, IT and metal were the best performers in today's session while FMCG, healthcare and consumer durables tried to pull the markets down. The Sensex closed at 17432, up 131 points from its previous close, and the Nifty shut shop at 5270, up 34 points. The CNX Midcap index closed with 0.5% gain while the BSE Smallcap index was also up 0.5% in today's trade. The market breadth was positive with advances at 711 against declines of 561 on the NSE. The top Nifty gainers were Bharti Airtel,HCL Tech, ACC and Sesa Goa while the biggest losers included IDFC, Reliance Communications, Reliance Power and Dr Reddy's.
