The Stock Market closed with good gains with indices of all secotrs closed in green. The Nifty closed above its important level of 5400. Today's best performers were Metal, Oil & Gas and Realty and power and capital goods also made significant gains. Tne Sensex closed at 17814 up 226 points from its previous close and Nifty shut at 5429 up 70 points.
The CNX Midcap index closed with 0.9% gain while BSE smallcap index was up 1% in todays trading session. The market traded with positive with advances at 950 against declines of 491 on the NSE.
Among top Nifty gainers were Sterlite Industries, Sesa Goa, Sail, Gail while Wipro, M&M, Reliance Infra and Tata Motots were the biggest losers in today's trading session.
