The Sensex closed at 15883 (provisional), down 88 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 4751 (provisional), down 28 points. The CNX Midcap index was down 0.7% and the BSE Smallcap index lost 0.3%. The market breadth was negative with advances at 512 against declines of 772 on the NSE.
